This position can be fully remote within Ireland or the USA or based in our Co. Waterford HQ in Ireland.

International Living are looking for a talented and highly motivated Senior Web Developer to become a key part of our Web Development team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the growth of the company in 2022, and beyond.

The responsibilities include overseeing projects from conception to implementation, designing and developing web architecture, and providing guidance on technical issues.

The successful candidate will be comfortable wearing many hats and willing to work on all parts of the stack. We’re looking for an energetic go-getter with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.

The preferred candidate will be somebody with great communication and technical skills that has the ability to work effectively with a positive attitude in a fast-moving, multi-project environment.

Somebody who can work collaboratively & communicate effectively with other developers, designers, and stakeholders throughout our organization. Somebody who can collaborate closely with all team members and stakeholders to find technology and systems solutions to project roadblocks.

  • A degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience as a web developer. Strong understanding of WordPress best practices. Strong familiarity with object-oriented code (particularly in PHP and JavaScript).
  • Experience balancing short-term vs. long-term needs, business needs, and customer needs.
  • Excellent knowledge of web development disciplines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Git, CDNs and agile development.
  • Good knowledge of multiple programming languages
  • A real go-getter with the ability to offer guidance and support.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss new technical concepts with technical employees and have the ability to translate a marketing need into a technical solution.
  • Previous development experience working in The Agora companies is highly advantageous but not essential.
  • Fluency in English essential.


  • Development of WordPress plugins and themes.
  • Deployment of plugins and themes.
  • Platform/multisite maintenance and optimization.
  • Mentorship of Junior Developers. Share best practices and new technologies with the rest of the team.
  • Work planning and issue management.
  • Theme and Plugin Security.
  • Familiar with AWS server set up and architecture.
  • Producing code to a high standard for both front and back-end ensuring efficiency, reusability, and reliability.
  • Drive continuous integration & deployment/manage change via Git & GitHub.
  • Work collaboratively & communicate effectively with Project Managers, other designers/developers within Project Teams, and with other departments and stakeholders.
